Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, announced progress on a new Economic Entities Platform, a major government initiative aimed at transforming how businesses interact with the state throughout the entire investment lifecycle.
The Economic Entities Platform will function as a unified national digital system linking all stages of a company’s journey — establishment, licensing, operation, and exit — through a single platform. Each company will be assigned a unique digital identity, enabling seamless integration of services, regulatory requirements, and financial obligations across government entities.
For businesses, the platform is expected to significantly simplify and accelerate procedures by allowing investors to establish companies, obtain licenses, and access government services through one digital interface, replacing the current multi-agency process. It will also standardise licensing requirements, reduce duplication in documentation, shorten approval timelines, and improve transparency.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Administrative Control Authority, with a parallel effort to re-engineer licensing procedures across sectors to align with international best practices before full digitisation.
Overall, the platform aims to create a streamlined, transparent, and fully digital investment environment, improving coordination across government entities while making it easier and faster for companies to start and operate businesses in Egypt.
