3rd – 4th February 2025, London
Under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency, Dr. Pilot Sameh Ahmed El Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, the EGY Civil Aviation Mission to the UK 2025 successfully convened in London on the 3rd and 4th of February. This high-level mission was organised in collaboration with the Egyptian British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC), the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA), and the British Embassy in Cairo, with the strategic support of the UK’s Department for Business & Trade (DBT).
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors for their unwavering support and tireless efforts. Their commitment to this mission has been invaluable, and it is because of their dedication that initiatives like this are able to achieve such success. Without their partnership, our ability to make a meaningful impact would not be as possible. We deeply appreciate their belief in our vision and look forward to continuing this collaborative journey to drive positive change and growth.
The mission provided a vital platform for advancing Egypt’s aviation sector through strategic partnerships with the UK. Discussions focused on the enhancement of Egypt’s airport infrastructure, the promotion of sustainable aviation, and the exploration of public-private partnerships (PPPs) to drive sectoral growth and innovation.
A significant milestone of the mission was the signing of 14 Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between UK companies and the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) and EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering. These agreements mark a critical step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation and leveraging UK expertise to support Egypt’s aviation modernisation efforts.
The event featured an engaging agenda, including high-level panel discussions, B2B and B2G meetings, and networking sessions with key stakeholders from both the UK and Egypt. Key participants included:
The mission also facilitated in-depth discussions on airport upgrades, capacity building, and opportunities for increased collaboration in technology and sustainability within the aviation sector.
A special thanks goes to all our esteemed delegates who participated in the discussions and contributed to the success of this mission. We look forward to building on these achievements and further strengthening UK-Egypt cooperation in the aviation sector.
